Not wanting to do the standard repertoire for such bands (Ipanema, Fly me to the moon etc..), singer and guitarist Anders Johansson arranged pop(-ular) songs by Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Kylie Minoque and others for a jazz quintet. With the steady swinging grooves by Calle Rasmusson, drums and Marcus Linfeldt, double bass and with Arne Tengstrand's harmonic piano, trumpet phenomenon Nils Jansson's lyrical phrases and Anders Johansson's singing on top, it all come out quite unique. These are the new jazz standards. They have been asked to perform at many major night-clubs and events for, amongst others, Step2, Eurvision Song Contest, and with Micael Bindefeld (the major PR and Event agency in Sweden) the 25th anniversary of Café Opera and grand opening of Grand Hotel, Stockholm. All of them highly professional musicians, their c.v.'s put together covers almost every artist in Sweden Martini Lizards recently recorded a number of songs, that is to be released soon.
